09:52 am: urlaub, reigen usw.

Ich gebs zu, ich bin zu faul für einen Urlaubsbericht, ich hab nach 2 Wochen noch nicht mal alle Fotos auf den Rechner kopiert.
Aber ich möchte allen die nach Berlin fahren die Modellbahnanlage am Alexanderplatz empfehlen. Ich bin ja eigentlich kein so riesiger Modellbahn-Fan, aber die Anlage ist sehr detailreich und liebevoll gestaltet.

Die Gesundheitswoche in Graz war auch wunderschön und ich bin jetzt wieder motiviert etwas mehr für meinen Körper zu tun. Ich war daheim schon walken, im Fitnesscenter am Crosstrainer und ich hab brav meine Wirbelsäulengymnastik gemacht.

Der Reigen war im Großen und Ganzen toll, auch wenn ich am Anfang die Musik ziemlich nervig gefunden hab, ich halt weder Hardcore-Bumbum-Techno aus, noch bin ich im richtigen Alter für Metal-Gegrunze. *sudder*
Aber später ist die Musik echt nett geworden und ich bin ordentlich verschwitzt vom Tanzen heimgewandert. Es war auch schön, wieder mal ein paar Leute zu treffen, die ich nicht oft sehe.

I made a mistake... a big one!

I asked my mum AND my mother in law how they make apricot jam. Since the opinions are quite contrary (especially on the subject if to puree), I tried both ways and well... I made a additional one with nougat.

Now the kitchen needs to be refurbished, or at least thoroughly cleaned, but I feel happy. As happy, as tasting something with lots of sugar can make you. : )

Wer die Bilder vom Steampunk-Shooting noch nicht gesehen hat, findet sie HIER.

Schön langsam formen sich in meinem Kopf Ideen für ein Lolita-Shooting, da wird aber auch wieder ein Steampunk (lolita) Outfit dabei sein. :)

Ansonsten mach ich zur Zeit wieder mal nicht viel ausser Arbeiten und Nähen. :)

07:24 pm: Der Reigen..

Da inzwischen schon 4 mal im Jahr schwarzer Reigen ist, hab ich irgendwie kein besonderes Anzieh-Drama mehr. Da ich aber schon letztes Mal mit was oft getragenem war, hab ich mir bewiesen, dass ich aus dem alter raus bin, wo ich immer was neues haben muss.

Deshalb eine neue Quest: ICH KOMME 14 TAGE VOR DEM REIGEN DRAUF, DASS ICH DOCH WAS NEUES WILL!

Ok, das Korsett wird recycled, das gute Stück:


Und ich finde, das verlangt nach etwas Steampunk...

Dazu kommen wahrscheinlich:
- Eine schwarze "peasant-blouse" (Weiß wer, wie man die auf Deutsch nennt?) oder ein enges Shirt aus lila Flickenstoff mit einem Pseudo-Shrug (Idee geklaut auf Etsy: so ca. )
- ein eher enger Rock mit lila Flickenstoff (Fishtail-artig? oder ganz normal eng?) und einem Bustle aus feinem Tüll.
- ein üppiges Halsband, ein Kopf-Dingens mit Netztüll... naja, schau mal mal, was noch kommt... vielleicht so Handgelenksmanschetten...

UPDATE I; 02.06., 21:30, Peasant Blouse ist fertig. Jaja, ich gebs zu das war geschummelt. Die Bluse ist aus einem Lolitakleid-UFO (unfinished objekt) entstanden, ich musste nur mehr versäubern, Spitzen annähen und Ärmel und Unterkante verarbeitenh. Aber motivierend ist es trotzdem! :)

UPDATE II; 04.06., 08:30, Der Shrug ist gestern noch fast fertig geworden, ich muss nur mehr das Bindeband annähen, dass ich schon aufgesteckt hab. Hab mich auch schon entschieden, welche Kopfbedeckung es wird: ein versteampunkter Zylinder. Der Rockstoff ist vorgewaschen, ich werd einen ganz einfachen Schnitt nehmen:
der Fishtail-Tellerrock von Natron und Soda, in leicht angepasster Form.
Heute werd ich noch eine kleine Tour zum Brunnenmarkt machen, vielleicht gibts noch irgendwo günstige Spitzen für den Bustle.

UPDATE III; 06.06., 23:45, Der Fishtail ist quasi fertig. Der untere Teil ist mit Tüll aufgeflufft.. und das war die Hölle! Mit der Maschine konnte ich den Tüll nicht raffen, weil dauernd der Faden gerissen ist, sogar bei der Overlock!!! Naja, einiges Handnähen später ist alles dort, wo es hingehört. Die Länge gehört noch kontrolliert, aber dann ist wirklich Ruhe.
Jetzt fehlt nur mehr der Bustle, Hals- und Armschmuck, dann vielleicht noch ein paar Details des Hutes. Aber dann! :)

UPDATE IV; 08.06, 11:25, Wow, ich war gestern fleissig. Der Bustle ist fertig, der Fishtail abgelängt, die Schuhe ausgewählt, der Hut gepimpt. Jetzt fehlen nur mehr die Rüschen-Armbänder und die Auswahl des Schmuckes. Danke an Madame Eleanor für die Gesellschaft und den Input!

09:08 am: I'm a model?!

Two days ago, I created a sedcard at a Modelkartei.de. And now (2 day later !) I have 3 shootings waiting for me, without asking for one. That somehow really boosts my self confidence... Silly, isn't it?

But that means I have to sew as hell, I need to finish my "Holy Mary of Guadelupe"-Projekt this year. The first fabric has arrived, but I still should sew some trousers before starting something historical. Well, I'm glad I can keep myself busy. ;-)

12:51 pm: Can hair hurt?

Seriously, in the last few days the roots of hair hair hurt pretty often, the only hairstyle I can wear without problems is a ponytail in the neck.
If I leave them open they get tangeld to dreadlocks within a day, if I waer e.g. a heigh ponytail it hurts like hell.

Can this be just because of the weight? I know they are long thick and many, but not THAT long and thick! I wanted long hair to be able to do different hairstyles, not to wear the same boring thing every day.

Do you have any idea what could cause the pain, aside from the weight? If possible, I would like to keep my hair and grow it even longer.

09:18 am: new costume plans

Time for an update:

I decieded to go to Bordenau  for a weekend in late march, were some costume-crazy people meet for a weekend of sewing. Origninally I wanted to make a corset, but there is something more urgent.

Since there are serveral occasions in the near future I need a victorian summer outfit for.
I decided to use the follwing patterns:
- TV 460, the cuirass bodice.
- TV 364, the autumn overskirt.

I'm going to make the bodice in Bordenau, since there are many helping hands with the fitting. I guess, the skirt won't be a problem, I made a similar overskirt before...

I need a natural fibre for summer and I invested in a lot of other fabric lately, I had to choose something quite cheap. I also wanted a lighter color, and I wanted to use my black underskirt and petticoat.
So I decided to use Anneli in black on white from Ikea. Guess you have seen some historical costumes with this fabric before. ;-)

Another thing I started yesterday is a vintage dress from 1952. I use my gingham-cherry fabric and make a trim of black bias tape. My fist summer dress in a long time... Most parts are cut out and I already started sewing the darts yesterday. I want to try it on next Mondays sewing course, the sewing will be easy but I'm a bit afraid of the bias tape.

Since I have been asked for pics from Saturday, here they are:

12:48 pm: Costume plans for the next month
Aside from some daily wear, I want to sew, I have some sewing projects for the next month.

After falling in love with victorian fashion, there are two Outfits I want to sew, the first from the late bustle periode...

TV101 - a wired bustle in black
TV261 - 4 gore underskirt, probably also in black
TV460 - a cuirass bodice in the evening version
TV364 - the autumn overskirt

The fabric for the overskirt and the bodice is still open to desicion, but it has to be suitable for a historical ball in january.

I want to re-use the bustle for the second outfit, but combine it, with a polonaise (TV410) made of red striped taftea ( or maybe green/blue or gold/red), combined with the four gore underskirt out of matching solid colored taftea, with a bottom ruffle of the striped fabric from the polonaise. Would be fine, if I manage to finish everything till the 6th of December for the "Schwarzer Reigen", but if I don't there will be use for it later and for the Reigen a bustle, overskirt and corset will surely be enough. ^^

So, those are my plans for the next few weeks of sewing, I'll maybe start with the bustle today. :)

Update I, 5.11: I decided to use the gold/red fabric for the polonaise, with a dark red underskirt, maybe with a ruffle of the striped fabric on the lower edge.
I've started with the bustle 3 days ago and want prepare everything to be ready, when the boning arrives.

Update II, 10.11: Everything I can finish without the boning is done... I guess I start with cutting the pattern for the polonaise, hopefully the fabric arrives by the end of the week. (in the meantime I have to finish some everydaywear as well).

UpdateIII, 17.11: In the meantime I decieded to make a kind of mockup of all pieces out of black DITTE (ikea's cheap cotton fabric) or other cheap fabrics. The four-gore-skirt is on it's way to be made, everything cut out, the front parts already sewn. I'll hope to finish the back till Wednesday, so I can start the autumn overskirt before the weekend.

Update IV, 26.11: The 4 gore underskirt lacks the waistband, but maybe I'm going to attach it today. I don't want to finish the skirt, without knowing how it looks over the petticoat, but:
Still no news of the boning or the fabric I ordered!
I bought some fabric for a test run of the Polonaise and started with a mock up yesterday, which doesn't fit to well  So ... many problems, but as always, I'm going to solve them somehow. *g*

Update V: 1.12: I decided against the polonaise, I want more time, to make it properly. Since I need an outfit for saturday, I decided to go for steampunk, with:
- the wired petticoat (finished)
- the 4 gore underskirt (misses hooks and eyes and a small lace at the bottom)
- the wash overskirt (everything cut out, apron finished) out of black/brown fabric)
- a shrug of the same black/brown fabric (finished)
- an old corset
- a heappiece (with peacock feathers?)
- a choker

Update VI: 4.12:
I finished the headpiece and the overskirt only misses one tie and the hook and eye closure. I'm going to take a day off tomorrow to make the bag, a choker, maybe earrings and whatever I can think up in a day off.
